**Edited Dec 27, 2014: I've decided to just be myself and not hide behind a fictional character. I'm taking my name back. She'll come back under another name, I'm sure, because her story is rather interesting.**
Over the last few days, Mr and Mrs Myrrh have become much more real to me. Mr Myrrh was hardly more than a few phrases in my Scapple app less than a week ago. Now he has an ego. He's rather shy and cares about projecting a manly image. He speaks in short, direct sentences, and doesn't say much more than he has to. On the other hand, he wants to encourage Ms Myrrh as she overindulges her exhibitionism on Facebook (all of their posts are set to "public"), which, according to the story, he has ordered her to do, anyway, as part of her service to him.
The funniest thing about writing interactions between two characters on Facebook is the messages they send each other. I am constantly surprised to see that Mr Myrrh has a message waiting when I log him in, only to laugh at myself when I remember that I sent the message as Ms Myrrh. Who sees those messages? Just the two characters and myself, of course, so what's the point?
Because there still is the need for them, as realistic characters, to communicate with each other privately. Exploring that private conversation helps me flesh out Mr and Ms Myrrh by answering the questions, "What do they say/do when people are (assumedly) watching? What do they say/do when they have privacy?"
The answer, so far, is that they tease each other publicly and sympathize with each other privately. It's hard to say if that's what a couple in a BDSM relationship ought to do online. Some might think that the submissive should always publicly serve the dominant and never embarrass him/her. Some might like to see that the relationship is "real" enough that the submissive can be bratty or flirt with his/her dominant publicly.
Either way -- or even some way in-between -- Mr and Ms Myrrh have begun to organically develop a pattern of relating online and, in turn, that's served to make their characters more solid to me. I'm looking forward to sharing their adventures with you, as written in Ms Myrrh's point of view, sometime soon. I'm currently in the editing stage of the first story. My goal is to publish it either as an e-book or through an online paid erotica site, some time near the end of January. I'll be happily surprised if it happens earlier.
Warmly,
The Author
