Yes, I'm Fictional. No, I'm Not Sorry.

**Edited Dec 27, 2014: I've decided to just be myself and not hide behind a fictional character. I'm taking my name back. She'll come back under another name, I'm sure, because her story is rather interesting.**

I'm Ms Myrrh. But I'm not. But I am.

Ms Myrrh, or some variation thereof, is a pseudonym my author has used for nearly 20 years, whether flirting on the original IRC BDSM chatroom, posting tales at MC Stories, being an involved member of the MC Forum, and making friends here and there who also wished to remain anonymous.

Admitting you enjoy BDSM, as a lifestyle, a fantasy, a starting point for telling a story, can be troublesome in real life. A pseudonym makes life easier. It makes it possible to be honest about some things by hiding other things.

But now Ms Myrrh is a fictional character on Facebook. The author might speak through my voice, or that of my husband (also a fictional character), but I'm not really her, and she's not really me, and what I post on Facebook is what ends up in the stories, not what she does in reality. Her reality is far, far different than mine; far, far more pedestrian. The only similarity might be a certain luxury of time.

Because I am a character, any Facebook user should know that I will act in character at all times. I'm not interested in selling anything other than the stories I'm in, I'm not interested in collecting your personal information or stories to put in mine (unless you specifically ask me to), and I'm not trying to manipulate anyone into doing anything through false pretenses.

I sincerely hope you like me even though I don't exist anywhere outside of the imagination. It would be out of character for me to not want to be liked. ;-)

Warmly,
Miriam Myrrh

PS: This blog will be maintained by both myself and the author as a door to "step outside" plot lines and examine the experience of a fictional character trying to sell her stories via Facebook and other mediums to adults over 18 who like to read stories with adult themes.
